Boston's French Secrets:
Guided Walks That Reveal Boston's French Heritage
by Rhea Hollis Atwood

This Hidden Heritage Travel Guide is a step-by-step exploration of neighborhoods known for their French inhabitants, French architecture, and French influence. The walker and armchair traveler alike will see Boston's French past up close. Each of the five walks - and Icons Outside the Walks - begins with an easy-to-read map showing the location of the sites of interest on the tour. The fascinating facts behind the French story of each site are presented in a lively and interesting style and are highlighted by 50 modern and historic pictures of the places and people described. You will enjoy exploring the city's French connections, block by block, treated to a feast of Boston French culture, past and present. See Boston with new eyes and discover its many-layered ties to France and its culture, and some outstanding personalities - including Paul Revere. Bibliography, selective list of French restaurants, index.
